Traces the passage of daylight through a space in a forest by the contours of its shadows.

This drawing is built up in a similar way to the Clouds series. Both work inside a field of action where the body of the artist (or the synecdoche of the hand) closely follows an external object of study. The whole field of observation is changing throughout the drawing but only small sections of this can be dealt with at a time, so the drawings are built up in fragments, as fields, integrating parts the attention focuses on or is fascinated by into the whole.
